Organizations UMBA cooperates with to promote cycling and trail care:
- Uwharrie
Wheelmen Cycling Club - The Uwharrie Wheelmen Cycling Club promotes safe enjoyable bicycling for all types and levels of cyclists in the Stanly County community and the Uwharrie Lakes area through organized rides, promotions, activities, and advocacy for the sport of cycling.
- Tarheel
Trailblazers - The Trailblazers have built and maintain over 25 miles of mountain bike trails in and around the Charlotte Metro area. Their trails were constructed in Charlotte Parks and include Catawba Riverfront Mountainbike Park, Renaissance Park, Colonel Francis J. Beatty Park, and North Mecklenburg Park. The Trailblazers are a mouthpiece for the Charlotte Mountain Biking Community.
- Sandhills
Cycling Club - Sandhills Cycling Club is a premier regional club with over 75 members and has produced numerous state champions, as well as supported riders who have gone on to national success. They have club members who participate in organized bike rides, who just get together to ride around the neighborhood, who race bicycles: road racers, mountain bike racers, multi-sport racers and cyclocross racers. The club has a wide variety of member interests, but they all wear the Sandhills Cycling Club Jersey and love bikes.
- Middle Ring Cycles - "Your Epic Ride Superstore!" A new website and new store located in Albemarle and serving the Uwharrie National Forest area. The shop opened up Spring of 2006. The website features ride info and maps, a forum, and more.
- URA - Uwharrie Recreation Association - The Uwharrie Recreation Association is a group made up of organizations representing the primary user groups that recreate on trails in the Forest. The goal of URA is to promote responsible use and volunteer care of the recreational resources found in the Uwharrie National Forest.
- Yadkin River Trail Association - The Yadkin River Trail Association (YRTA) is a private, nonprofit corporation chartered in March 1984 to promote policies, programs and projects which contribute to the stewardship of the Yadkin River and the Trail Access System.
- Pfeiffer University - Pfeiffer University is a comprehensive United Methodist-related university, with multiple campuses and delivery systems, committed to educational excellence, service, and scholarship.
- IMBA - International Mountain Bike Association - UMBA is an Affiliated Club Member of IMBA. IMBA creates, enhances and preserves trail opportunities for mountain bikers worldwide. Since 1988, IMBA has been bringing out the best in mountain biking by encouraging low-impact riding, volunteer trailwork participation, cooperation among different trail user groups, and innovative trail management solutions.
- Uwharrie National Forest - USDA Forest Service - General information about the Uwharrie National Forest. Includes maps and info about camping options in the area.

The Yadkin/Pee Dee Lakes Project website contains more information about the Uwharrie Lakes Region, home of UMBA. The Project and UMBA have worked together to promote cycling and eco-tourism in the region. UMBA cyclists can be seen in the video "From This Earth: The Yadkin / Pee Dee Lakes Region", a production of the Project.
